What we keep
- Readings: what Ensembl says is at a genome position, cached so the next look is fast. They contain no address.
- Saved loci: if you sign in and save, your public wallet address, its locus, its reading summary and the strand design you chose. These are public, on purpose: they light the holder genome and have their own page.
- Sign-in nonces and rate-limit counters, keyed by IP address for a short time, to stop abuse. They are deleted within a day.
- A session cookie (HttpOnly) after you sign in, so you stay signed in for a week.
What we never keep
No personal genetic data, no names, no emails, no private keys. Addresses you only read (without saving) are not stored with any reading.
Third parties
To read a locus, our server asks Ensembl's public REST API (EMBL-EBI) about a genome position; it does not send your address. Fonts come from Google Fonts. The site runs on Cloudflare, which may add privacy-preserving web analytics. With a wallet signed in after launch, our server asks a public Solana RPC node for the wallet's token balance and first purchase.
Your session in this browser
The page remembers in this browser's session storage that you have seen the opening animation, so it doesn't play again.
